I never really bothered with using a primer before. I have an oily skin & it becomes super greasy in summers specially in florida so I don’t even bother with liquid foundations. The only thing I use is my MUFE duo-mat powder with some occasional bronzer. But with summers & powders I noticed that due to moisture & skin oils, the powders get coagulated on the skin. Thus I’ve come to a conclusion that its about time I start using face primers.  And luckily at that time, I came across Reviva labs.

Cost : $19.50

Available online & in whole foods.

My Experience with the primer : It has a transparent gel like texture. It is a little bit thick & not runny or watery. I initially thought I can use it as a serum on its own. Also one good thing is : it did not have any kind of odour. I use a teeny amount on my cheeks, mainly T-zone & the reminder on my neck.  For some reason I allow it to settle down for a couple of minutes. It really does make my foundation glide on my skin. Also, the powder foundation gets applied evenly and stays like that without accumulating in my pores.  My main concern was dimethicone breaking me out which it did not (thank God!)  Although I must say it doesn’t mattify my skin. rather, it gives a creamy sheen to it[not cheeky or oily]. But the staying power does not work in my case. In the FL sun, it lasts just a couple of hrs more than without me priming. I still have to dab my face with a tissue/blotting paper. In AC it sits just fine. I’m guessing, normal to dry skinned people would benefit a lot from this primer.

  1. This was probably one of the first great experiences I had with a primer. I have oily skin + usually nothing helps but I tested it out wearing a full face at the beach {in feb though it wasn’t cold at all} but I loved it. Not a streak in sight. They have some amazing products.

    1. Even i didnt like any of the market ones. Sheer waste. This onewas better. Also, they really have a great kojic acid cream for dark spots. I just recently purchased it

I have oily skin as well and have tried so many products and in this FL weather, nothing makes me be matte for long U unless in AC of course).. I am slowly learning to live with that fact and stick to blotting sheets lol
